Launched in 2018, it lets Filipinos living abroad call home to any PLDT landline, Smart, Sun or TNT number in the Philippines. The person on the receiving end doesn't need the app, a smartphone, or even an internet connection — the call comes through to their regular phone.

FreeBee runs on Android and iOS. After registering, a user gets a short daily free call by watching a brief ad. For longer or ad-free calls, they use paid call credit.

FreeBee premium call credit

FreeBee credit comes in two forms:

  • Free daily minutes — a short ad-supported call to the Philippines each day, available to any registered user at no cost.
  • Premium call credit — ad-free paid minutes for calls to PLDT landline, Smart, Sun and TNT numbers, billed at low per-minute rates. This is the balance a top-up tops up.

How FreeBee credit is loaded

Premium credit is normally added inside the FreeBee app under Account → Call Credits, where a user redeems a PIN or buys credit directly. A top-up sent through Fonmoney credits the FreeBee account tied to the number you enter, so there is no PIN to scratch off or pass along.
