Topping up a mobile in Pakistan: what to know

A few facts help before your first online recharge to Pakistan, so everything goes smoothly.

Which networks you can top up

Four brands share the mobile market in Pakistan. Jazz is the largest, with just over a third of all connections, followed by Zong, Telenor and Ufone. Since mid-2026 Telenor Pakistan has belonged to PTCL, the group behind Ufone; Telenor numbers stay valid and are still topped up as Telenor. With Fonmoney you can top up all four. The regional operator SCOM, found only in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, cannot be topped up.

Which number belongs to which network

The first digits usually tell you the provider. Jazz numbers typically start with 030 or 032 (the former Warid numbers), Zong with 031 or 037, Ufone with 033 and Telenor with 034. Pakistan has had number portability since 2007, though, so a number can have moved to another provider. If in doubt, ask the recipient which network they use.

How long a top-up takes

Once your payment is confirmed, the credit goes to the provider. It is usually on the phone within a few minutes, and the recipient doesn't need to do anything. Each network has its own balance code: *111# for Jazz, *222# for Zong, *444# for Telenor and *124# for Ufone.

How to pay

You pay by credit card and, where available, with paysafecard. You see the price in your local currency before you confirm the payment.

Where you can top up from

Whether you live in the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany or anywhere else: with Fonmoney you send credit to Pakistan the same way.

FAQ: topping up a mobile in Pakistan

▸ Which networks can I top up in Pakistan?

Jazz, Zong, Telenor and Ufone. That covers all the nationwide networks in the country.

▸ How do I top up a mobile in Pakistan online?

Enter the number, choose the amount, pay. You don't need a customer account.

▸ How quickly does the credit arrive in Pakistan?

Usually a few minutes after your payment. The recipient can check it with the balance code of their network.

▸ How can I tell which network a Pakistan number is on?

Usually from the first digits: 030 and 032 are Jazz, 031 and 037 Zong, 033 Ufone, 034 Telenor. If someone has kept their number after switching, this no longer applies. Then the only way is to ask.

▸ Can I still top up a Warid number?

Yes. Warid became part of Jazz years ago. Numbers starting with 032 are Jazz numbers today, so you simply choose Jazz.

▸ Is Telenor Pakistan still a network I can top up?

Yes. Telenor Pakistan now belongs to PTCL and Ufone, but the numbers and the top-up work as before. You choose Telenor.

▸ Are there any extra fees?

No. You see the final price before you pay, and nothing is added.

▸ How do I pay for a top-up to Pakistan?

By credit card and, where available, with paysafecard. The price is shown in your local currency.
