Fonmoney accepts transfers to Portugal from countries with their own currency outside the eurozone. These include the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Canada, as well as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Chile, Mexico and Angola.

In euros. You pay in your own currency, for example pounds, Swiss francs or Canadian dollars, and you see the conversion to euros before you confirm.

Their full name and the IBAN of their bank account. A Portuguese IBAN starts with PT.

Yes. Any account with a Portuguese IBAN can receive the transfer, for example at Caixa Geral de Depósitos, Millennium bcp, Novo Banco, Banco BPI or Santander Portugal. That also applies to accounts in Madeira and the Azores.

That depends on the country you send from, the amount and the payment method. Before you confirm, you see the fee, the exchange rate to euros and the exact amount the recipient gets. There are no hidden costs.

Yes. Fonmoney is a payment service regulated by the Banco de España in the European Union and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom. Payments run over an SSL-encrypted connection.

European regulation requires every money transfer provider to know who is sending. You only need an ID document, and the check is part of creating your account.
